Toasty Toes Have Arrived!

Hubby told me I got a package today...I thought it might have been some items that I recently won on ebay. But I'm glad he didn't open it to let me know...It was my Toasty Toes package from my pal, Kathy in Mass!


I got a pair of Lichen Ribbed Socks from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vinatge Socks, some yummy mohair wool in a purple-blue colorway from Cloverleaf Farms (can you say Irish Hiking Scarf?, divine honey soap that's organic (yeah!) and CHOCOLATE! DARK CHOCOLATE from Harry and David. Gonna keep this safe and sound as a limited treat after hubby and I have lost all we need to on South Beach. Our cruise is almost 2 weeks away. See where I'm going with this and why we are on South Beach.(Look for a posting in the near future about countdown to cruise knitting.)



And the socks fit perfectly!!!! Thanks you Kathy....believe it or not I'm still waiting for my sockapaloooza socks (ended in May) so I'm so excited to receive a pair of hand-knitted socks.

Sense of Accomplishment

Well I woke up this morning with 2 goals in mind:

#1: Finish the book for tomorrow nite's book club, "72-Hour Hold" by Bebe Moore Campbell. I was a bit worried when I went to sleep last nite as I had more than 2/3 to read. But done at 9am (I woke up early!)
#2: Finish knitting the second Log Cabin Sock for Toasty Toes. DONE! And actually even Kitchenered a couple of hours ago during the Bucs Game (YEAH the finally won!).



As I said the pattern is the Log Cabin Socks in Handknit Holidays and they sure knit up fast (even with the cables). The first sock also knit up over one weekend. Yarn was the Peruvian Collection's Uros Aran by Elann and is a 50% wool/50% llama blend. Hope my Toasty Toes pal digs them. Now I just have to purchase some cool goodies to pack with them.

Life as I know it

Hectic like many out there. And how do I relax..with knitting of course! Let's see....since I last updated my blog, I was able to assassinate my original target during Sock Wars...lovely Pischi (who happened to be from Florida) and the her target, Rose in VA. For both pairs of socks, yarn of choice for the International Sock of Doom was Cascade Fixation. Then, sad to say I was assassinated by Pat in British Columbia. So that's the end of that story.
Although I had listened in the past to Knitcast and downloaded some CastOn podcasts, I hadn't really gotten bitten by the bug. Now I have...I listen to knitting podscasts in the morning for exercise as I take the dog on a 4-mile walk. I discovered Pixie Purls, Lime and Violet, Knitty D and the City and Pointy Sticks.
FOs...besides the two Socks of Doom, I never did post a photo of my Mom's Adamas (forgot the camera when she received her gift so only shots of blocked shawl). Only the first sock of doom has been saved for posterity (totally forgot to take photos of sock #2 and it's a shame because Pischi does such beautiful knitwork...and notice once again the gem of a sock bag that was personally created for me by Tonni).

For the past several weeks, I've been pretty much sticking to knitting mostly the Seraphim Shawl in handpainted yarn's Vermillion colorway. And then I decided so cast on and start my Sizzle (Knit n Tonic pattern) for the Sexy Knitters Club in Dale fo Norway Svale. Almost up to the armwhole bind-off on the back when I had to put the needles down and start sock #2 for Toasty Toes. Hopefully I will get my act together and start blogging and a more regular basis.
